I use my wall as an easel and no matter how "neat" I intend to be, I am usually a mess by the time the night is over. I wondered once how I had gotten literally hundreds of fingerprints on my lower wall & discovered that when I kicked my shoes off, sat on my chair and used my knee as a mahl stick, I placed my toes on my studio wall to steady myself. My toeprints were made by the dusting on my floor and as I shoved my chair forward & back with my feet I stuck my toes (unknowingly) into the dust. I have since resorted to cutting a piece of matboard and folding at a 90 degree angle to catch most of the dust, which I then add distilled water to & transform into colored-neutrals sticks. |
