It looks rather lovely to me…..I love the warm reflections and the superb modelling on the teapot. Yellow can be so difficult to work with, and this is just a master class in how to handle it, and look at the lovely reflected light at the bottom of the pot !

Yellow, indeed presents some challenges, as I discovered while doing this painting.
There are many varieties of yellow in this painting – combinations of yellow ochre, cadmium lemon yellow, cadmium yellow medium, cadmium yellow deep, Naples yellow, Hansa yellow and gold ochre.

Yellows can be rewarding, but they are challenging. I tried some lemons once and just gave up on them.
I stuck with this one and I was glad that I did.
