It looks rather lovely to me…..I love the warm reflections and the superb modelling on the teapot.  Yellow can be so difficult to work with, and this is just a master class in how to handle it, and look at the lovely reflected light at the bottom of the pot !

Yellow, indeed presents some challenges, as I discovered while doing this painting.
There are many varieties of yellow in this painting – combinations of yellow ochre, cadmium lemon yellow, cadmium yellow medium, cadmium yellow deep, Naples yellow, Hansa yellow and gold ochre.

Bill, Beautiful work with the yellows and all those warms and cools.

Familiar to me.  They all have their place with different levels of opacity, temperature, chroma, etc.  For me, Yellow is the most powerful primary.

Yellows can be rewarding, but they are challenging. I tried some lemons once and just gave up on them.
I stuck with this one and I was glad that I did.

Very well painted and beautiful. Values are spot on. Great use of light and shadow.
