I have updated with piece, but cannot find the original. It is oil pastel over acrylic, on canvas. 750mm x 750mm.
Top right corner, in original state. Reds and orange tones not final. Still pondering bottom left corner.

Have a look at the greyscale copy and notice your dark values could be increased.

Nothing left but smoke and cellar, and a woman with a black umbrella...July 1, 2018 at 7:00 pm #649230Thank you Sarah. A few spots still bother me – top right corner, too simplify or not, that is the question ATM

@jenniferpaints http://jrcs.com.au/artistJuly 3, 2018 at 4:25 am #649226After studying it for a bit longer, I think the top right and bottom left corners could be covered with red. I do think they may be too busy to be at the edge, they distract my eye from the rest of it. If they were deep red, they’d contrast nicely with that lush, bright, cool blue in the middle and the lack of detail in those corners would hold one’s eye more in the centre.
There is something else which I thought I would mention, just in case. I see a very distinct penis. Testicles at the top, head at the bottom right. I had assumed it was intentional and I like it, but if a phallic work was not your intention, you might wish to rework it.
If it is your intention, ignore my comment and carry on!
