Rks, I hope you keep generating these questions, we are all getting great feedback.

I draw with a no. 2 and erase with a Pink Pearl. Never thought much about it until I read the link posted herein by Em [thanks, Emmie]. I have noticed the effect of water on pp eraser, and that color seems to stick, but had not equated that to the pp. Excellent to know, in future I will confine it to drawing paper.

I dislike the kneaded eraser, but bought a new one after being told in this forum [can’t remember by whom  ] that it would help remove graphite lines, and also to try and ArtGum. I have not opened the dreaded kneaded, but the artGum works good. It’s messy, but does the job. I don’t remember a critique in that article about ArtGum.

Now, I’m going to look for this Magic Rub. Perhaps go downtown tomorrow to our wonderful art store, Arizona Art. Hey! right in the neighborhood of my very favorite Starbucks! :D

I find that Arches Aquarelle 300gsm paper is almost INDESTRUCTABLE (sp).

So – you could literally erase with almost anything.

That said, I like using the black erasers that are sold in the art store (Staedler i think). Mainly because you can see the shards that are rubbed off and get rid of them all before that “all important” first wash!

Oh yes, those are good, too. Essentially the same as the Staedler Mars White but they are a bit smoother and less prone to break apart as they get small.

I posted this question at 11:13 P.M. Tuesday night, and in less than 24 hours I have received 17 helfpul responses. Thank you all so much!

I am beginning to think that some of you work with your mouse in one hand and your brush in the other. Keeping up with you all is quite a challenge to this newcomer.

I am not familiar with Magic Rub or Poster Tack and will log in later tonight to learn more about them. Hopefully these products are also for sale in Canada.

                    rks :)

LOL…..that’s almost what I do. My work table and my computer desk are at right angles & all I have to do is a slight turn to see what’s going on here.

I love a fresh kneaded eraser and sometimes I use a Magic Rub.
I like the kneaded one because I can make a tiny little point if I need to, and it will lift lines that in my opinion are a little too dark.

I use kneadable….. theyre the only kind that will absorb copious amounts of graphite when Im garden designing……… but NOT the white W&N ones……..I find they ‘re useless…. but there are small grey ones about that are great for soft pencil and to blend cps….. dont have one with the cover still on so cant tell you the name :(

It means “Laugh out loud” see the new users Forum FAQ’s (frequently asked questions) here https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13821

There are some slightly ruder ones like ROFLMAO “rolling on the floor laughing my a** off”

BTW (by the way) They’re not meant to be rude, just a formof shorthand.

I got my poster tack at the drugstore near the tapes and adhesives. Some claim brand makes a difference. I haven’t found that to be the case.
