I chose to do an image from pixabay by Engin_Akyurt (https://pixabay.com/photos/journey-vacation-summer-asia-2076817/). I was up late a couple of nights ago fiddling with my glazing and nothing was really helping. My husband told me it looked good enough to call it done. When I accidentally washed my brush in my teacup, I realized I was too tired to keep going and signed it. I wasn’t satisfied though until I touched it up today. Now, I think I like it enough to notice what’s good about it more than the areas that need improvement (which are many). So, I have managed to succeed in glazing this time! Yay!
Thanks again, Jim, for prompting me to give this method another try. Thank you, Maureen, for the encouragement through the process.

April 23, 2021 at 3:57 am #1402552accident with my painting hand and wound up with 9 stitches two days ago. Makes it a little difficult to hold a brush. So part of these are painted with non-dominant hand and so are a bot shak
Sorry to hear your hand has been injured…. but thank you for hosting… and I wish I could have been able to participate… I ‘ve not done a grisaille before.
For a wonky hand, your paintings are very good. Well done in every aspect. I particularly like how your sea is calm with the backdrop of light grey clouds.
Cheers

April 23, 2021 at 4:13 am #1402554Jim, sorry to hear about that nasty accident and hope there’s no permanent damage.
Superb light in those clouds … well done with non- dominant hand too! Thanks again for hosting.
Ozean … I like the muted colours too…. actually quite typical of an English Spring/summer, except this past week!? It’s a lovely, atmospheric scene, well done.
Thanks for the lovely comments on mine Peeps.
Cheers, Maureen

Well, even though the upload showed as a blank box, it did upload …. weird.
Colin, it was bothersome on Wednesday, I had to use the Attachments after several attempts.

April 24, 2021 at 2:41 pm #1402922Yes, the upload worked but I see today that I now have two versions appearing in that first post, when yesterday only one showed up for me.
I see many of us chose the same reference! I am so interested to see everyone’s slightly different take. All are very nice and fresh and springlike.
