I love when you show close ups of your paintings – you really get to see and appreciate all the textures – I bet you your paintings are absolutely breathtaking in person. Another beautiful painting Richard
Living in Southwest Florida on the Gulf of Mexico offers great opportunity for plein air work – except in the hot muggy horrible summertime! Painting plein air in acrylics with a cold spell present I still add a medium to extend dry time as well as setting up the paint for palette knife application.
The following pieces are 12×16, on 225lb heavy linen paper using Chroma Interactive acrylics done in a loose expressionistic/impressionistic style. Also I wanted to use up tubes of paint that were 1/3 ( or less ) empty!
These were done in 2 plein air painting session – time spent about 1 – 1 1/2 hours each piece.
