http://painterofthesouthwest.blogspot.com/March 6, 2019 at 10:02 am #733984I like the way you “cut loose” on these paintings. Love the rich colors, too.

My website https://jocastilloart.comMarch 6, 2019 at 10:06 am #734607Thanks Jo – I’m 100% palette knife now – have not used any brushes for a ling time! I appreciate your comment! I am also enjoying using the clear gessoed linen canvas panels and leavung some of the canvas to show thru as the desert floor.

So… no to 3 paintings a day?
March 6, 2019 at 12:27 pm #734608Thanks CaliAnn – appreciate your comment —- good guess—no 3 paintings a day – I’m starting to run out of paint – got to concentrate on selling a few and painting LESS!

http://painterofthesouthwest.blogspot.com/March 6, 2019 at 2:41 pm #734068Love the latest two expressive palette knife and brush paintings Richard. I never can make up my mind about leaving the linen unpainted as I have done that with one of my paintings and it looks unfinished. Yet having said that I think it does work in your painting gives it another dimension.

Success is never found. Failure never fatal. Courage is the only thing.
Winston Churchill.March 6, 2019 at 4:05 pm #734609Thanks Caroline – I really like the look of the unpainted linen as it giive the piece a look of rusticity which blendss in with the texture painted with the palette knife. Appreciate your comments.

http://painterofthesouthwest.blogspot.com/March 7, 2019 at 7:01 am #734610String Of Mesas – AZ Badlands
I love the AZ Badlands, they are remote, rough, and rugged, but most of all they are beautiful.
18×24 on heavy 225lb linen paper with Chroma Interactive acrylics applied quickly with palette knife. This was done as a “study” for a 36×48 gallery wrapped canvas project I’m thinking about. I’ve never painted a canvas this big so I’m taking it on with “baby steps” so I can better get a grasp on the project.
I also need to order a goodly supply of paint!!!! :>))
