I think I get a little colour crazy in the Winter.  Everywhere outside here is grey or brown or off white…no matter where you look…so I have been going a bit over the top with colour in my art.

I don’t remember ever drawing/painting a pig before.  I kinda fancied him up a bit.

Started with a really simplified pen drawing on watercolour paper ( 9 x 12 inches)

Then used Derwent Inktense pencils…..used some water and a brush to activate the ink…..then pastel and pastel pencil after it dried.  Couldn’t quite figure out how to add some of the foreground foliage at the end…

I love this! The transparent Inktense colours make a great underpainting for pastels, and their brilliance plus the softness of the pastels make for a mystical mood.

            Wendy C&C always welcome

Love this, Kate! The simplicity of the drawing is counterbalanced by those beautiful colours.

The blue boar in the misty wood, a great image! It has a hint of Franz Marc. I like it.

                    C&C always welcome.

I agree with Harry. Looks expressionist to me, too. I like it a lot. All those bright colours are very welcome in the grey weather, here.

Fun colors Kate. It certainly livens up the dull drab winter colors. I like your mix of media too.

Otherworldly look to it, blue boar, green swamp gas, pink trees. The colors are great!
