Thanks for hosting and posting the photos so early Lin. Thought I have a go at florals this week. Started the wisteria in a cheap journal as a quick sketch to work out how to do it but decided to leave it as it is and do the roses instead.

        Sorry – bad scan.

Spent a bit more time on the roses – attempting to keep them fairly loose as I have a tendency to overwork them… and they got pinker and darker than I intended…. hard for me to do white flowers in watercolour :(

As usual critiques and suggestions are always happily received. Thanks for looking.

Comments welcome and critiques greatly appreciated :D

I was smiling when I looked at the picture of the wisteria because somehow I thought that you would paint them and I can look how you did it. So here you are Ros, you have painted them and I love your painting.

Both are very well painted. Love the way you left so much unsaid.

Wisteria are just right. Roses are perfect, with enough whites (hard to do after gouache:) Both are beautiful paintings and well conceived and painted.

Don’t apologize! Wisteria is wonderfully done and roses really sing.

It isn’t easy to get a good scan from sketchbooks but it is easy to see that the wisteria is a fresh crisp piece. Cool roses too.
