Many cameras these days have the capacity to take video.
Do many members use this facility and what sort of results do they get ?
Further, what video software do they use to process the results ?

I know for sure that Dave’s D7500 shoots video as does my OMD M5 Mkii but I haven’t used that facility as video does not interest me.
I can’t speak for Dave, whether he does video or not but I’m sure he will let us know when he comes online. Both of our cams shoot 4K movies.

                Hi,Mark,
Thanks for replying, maybe I should have made it clearer that the question was aimed at people using cameras or for that matter Smartphones rather than
                camcorders to take video.

I have used my Canon S1 to make Youtube videos. I used Moviemaker to put them together.

Yes, Mark, my D7500 does video (adequately but not exceptionally well, I believe). But, like you, I have no interest in shooting video. If I had a young puppy, or grandkids into sports, it might be something I’d use every once in a while.

Thanks Dave. Video does have it’s place as in those situations you mention. Neverteless, my view is that in most cases a dozen well timed stills can often tell a story as well as 10 minutes of home video footage without one’s guests suddenly remembering something urgent that they must attend! :D

Here’s an early Youtube video done with Photostory in 2007. This was when the size was limited and the length was limited.

I must say that I expected some members to make videos regularly especially for something like landscapes, family and holidays.
I agree that not a lot of subjects come to mind when you start thinking about it (for frequent videoing).Yet many people have camcorders so what do they video ?
I am coming to the conclusion that it might be better to stick with slideshows.
