Looser than my usual. Acrylic on board. With the tangle of branches, a very careful drawing was an important foundation. Working loose is fun and a respite from tight realism.
Cheers, Derek

It is nice to have the fallen autumn leaves in an early winter scene as they bring so much life. I also like the multicolored branches in the dominated tree. Best of all is the almost turquoise sky. It is wonderful that you have got all this color to hang together so well. Gary

March 10, 2022 at 5:04 am #1462410Derek, Beautiful result with your approach. I can see how an accurate drawing would be important to manage the branches, spaces between, and play of light. Wonderful colors!

Nice job capturing the sense of melting snow with old autumn leaves mixed in. The trees look great, and I am always impressed at how you handle the complex maze of limbs and branches.
