All Media Art Events, Artwork From Life, Art JournalsI take an unpaid leave from my job to avoid getting Covid, and I end up getting it anyway somehow despite being as careful as I can. It’s probably the worst I’ve ever felt, so I’ve barely got any art done at all pretty much this whole month unfortunately. I did get a few pieces done just before getting sick at least…
First is a reimagining of a character from the game Animal Crossing. Apparently I wasn’t alone in mistaking them for a girl. Honestly it seems there are quite a few Nintendo characters in recent years that are a bit androgynous in some way, and maybe it’s just the localization teams that try to make some distinction knowing the attitudes in the west? Who can say. Either way, it’s one piece I’m happy with.
Sailor Mars, not so much. That one’s kinda bleh. Think I’ll try practicing her more.
Next is another of my friend Angie. Really simple and tried to do it without outlines but I think it’s ok. She’s so sweet, even when she’s mean to me. :P Neglected to tell her I had Covid until after the hospital released me and she was so upset when she found out – only to want to send me a bunch of masks afterward. So I guess she must not be that upset.
Next two are fan art for games that were announced recently. Nier Reincarnation is one, which I did a bit of a lazy job on, but apparently it’s a mobile game and the writer of the other two games is not as involved, so I’m not that excited for it sadly. The other is Deadly Premonition 2, seemingly both a sequel as well as a prequel to the first one, and is only so many weeks away from release on July 10th. Managed to set aside some money for at least one game and I think this one will be it. Was a challenge to try and get everything from the trailer in one picture but I like it.
Lastly is one I did today after much thought. Covid has really made me rethink some of my projects, like the few earlier in this thread. I may shelve the darker one and just scrap the BioCurse thing altogether, and save Race War until I’m in a better mood. This Neon Noir project, planning on it being a game, seems like the best thing to work on right now, especially if I can sell it. I’m not sure the name ‘Resoneon’ is any better, but at least it’s something I haven’t seen anyone else use.
As for the picture itself, I’m thinking it’s not up to the quality or style I really want yet, but I’m glad to feel well enough to draw again.
