A studio of trees on a hill near to my home. I painted this using acrylics as I wasn’t sure how the oil would dry. I was testing out an idea I have for a painting. Thank you for your comments Caroline

I like this and your blending of colour is superb here giving this a wonderful lush thick foliage look with a super play of light off the trees.
Just super.John

January 7, 2020 at 8:06 am #929591The colours are beautiful Caroline. You have such a light touch in your work, which is clearly evident here and you do paint super trees! Excellent.

Thank you Bardo I enjoyed the exercise!
Hi Michael I think the blue worked for this study. Thank you for your comment!
Hi Gary I never paint enough trees really hoping to keep painting them more this year! I need lots of practice! Thank you for your comment!
Thank you so much Wes, the acrylics were nice to use and dried quickly compared to the oils I tend to use.
Thank you Claudia I did enjoy painting this very much!
Gosh Trudi my trees are not that good, I need to focus on them much more, in fact I am painting one with snow at the moment! Many thanks for your comment!

Winston Churchill.January 8, 2020 at 10:20 am #929586Lovely work. I think you got a lot of “oil effects” without using oils! Some reticent or recalcitrant oil painters who avoid acrylics could learn something from this piece, while enjoying it solely aesthetically as well.
January 8, 2020 at 3:24 pm #929589You did an excellent job with using acrylics. At first glance I thought you used oils. You blended the colors very well, and how they seamlessly merge together to create this dream-like atmosphere look awesome.
