I feel like the answer is no, but is there an easily obtainable substance that will help with the separation of pigment and binder for home made gouache? I did some research but it was inconclusive. Maybe fumed silica or methyl cellulose?
I’m using Rublev watercolor medium with home made dextrin according to the instructions on DB Clemons’ website. So far I’m liking the results but there’s room for improvement. My cerulean and chrome oxide are separating badly but that is partly due to improperly proportioned binder and pigment.
