September 2, 2012 at 5:19 am #1170757Now that’s what I call a painting. A great setting David, they wouldn’t last long in our house Love the shine on the black liquorice, they are shiny.

September 2, 2012 at 10:21 am #1170806Doug….very cool subject and rendition!
Renata… beautifully done!
Cyntada (sorry if I spelled your name wrong it was on the previous page so I couldn’t look it back up) I too love horehounds but not licorice.
David…love your doiley and plate addition. Very crisp and clean.
I’m going to have to give this one a go.
Lori AnneSeptember 2, 2012 at 4:06 pm #1170785To make the painting simpler I would eat all but one of the sweets (candies)

We must leave our mark on this worldSeptember 2, 2012 at 10:36 pm #1170854Tried out the challenge, I usually work more with cartoon type drawings, so going more realistic was a bit of a challenge.
September 3, 2012 at 1:51 am #1170759I think you did a great job, especially on the textured pink sweet.

September 3, 2012 at 11:39 am #1170812Here is my take of the challenge. 8 x 10 inches/ Painted on tissue paper and mounted (ironed) on to the front surface of photo paper for home inkjet printers. The yellow one at the bottom ended up to dark. I tried to lighten it with Chinese White……. got carried away and added more here and there:(

September 3, 2012 at 5:27 pm #1170850Oooh – challenge time again. I’ve always wanted to do one of these sweetie pictures. Very nice clean entries guys! And you’ve managed to do those bobbly bits better than I could. I might go back and try those again.
