This is great. You are all so brave and very tallented. I haven’t done a self portrait in a long while but they are fun. Maybe I will try it again or post the old one with the new! Jen

January 12, 2011 at 9:13 am #510851Hi Beth,
yes your right about the photo, I look far too miserable when concentrating so prefer to copy from a happy photo:) . Not watercolour but oils, the image I have posted is a little blurry. Its part of a larger painting, a collage of 12 portraits I did last year called a portrait of a summers day.
SteveJanuary 12, 2011 at 9:25 am #510476thought i’d join in the fun..2nd day on it have a long way to go yet.
Great idea Bethany and your portrait looks great on my pc…haven’t done one i like of myself yet!if not now, when?
http://larubia.blog.co.ukJanuary 12, 2011 at 10:42 am #510924I haven’t worked in awhile on anything, so I think I might try out a self-portrait soon for this. I got a bunch of canvases that I want to use too, might try a painting (I haven’t painted in forever). I should probably challenge myself even more and work with a mirror rather than a photo.
January 12, 2011 at 10:55 am #510293I’m hoping to post a self portrait also. I have 3 that I have done in the last few months, I may post one of those while working on a new one. Really enjoying seeing the portraits that have been posted so far.
Larubia, I really love your self portrait. The sky, the coat, everything about it is really captivating. Looking forward to seeing the progress!

January 13, 2011 at 2:59 am #510228This is one I did (obviously from a photo lol) a few years ago now, in watercolour.
Will challenge myself to do a ‘live’ one in front of the mirror this year.
