Hello nice people at Wetcanvas!
I decided to register after a lot of lurking, because I hoped it would motivate me into overcoming my creative laziness.
I was so lucky my parents were passionate about every form of art, and I had the opportunity to learn and enjoy many things during my childhood, especially music and visual arts.
Unfortunately I’ve always suffered from some serious form of performance anxiety that sucked out all the fun from the creative process at the end. Even a simple thing like writing this first post in the Welcome Forum took me some time, because English is not my mother language, so it’s not easy, you know, but let’s do it!
I never gave up music, I just kept it for myself, as a form of prayer. I entirely gave up painting because it was much more frustrating to me.
After the loss of my father, since he left all his oil colors, brushes, easels, and many paintings, I felt like I had an opportunity to share an aspect of his life we couldn’t really enjoy together. I remember I asked him to teach me oil painting once, but he just told me it was very easy. I think it was something he wanted to do in solitude as a form of meditation, and I respected that, so I didn’t insist. Besides, if I’d really wanted to paint so hard, I would have done it anyway, with or without his help, like I did with music, so, no excuses about that.
I want to try again. And that’s why I’m here.Ciao from Italy
