I took a workshop with K Hudson a month ago and learned a great deal. She makes it look so easy. This is a painting I worked on one afternoon. I was really trying to get out of my tight painting style and do something a bit more loose and painterly.

May 2, 2019 at 4:41 am #822634Well done Wes! It is hard to change one’s style isn’t it? Do you prefer working this way? I know you love your cityscapes so it will be quite hard to go loose with them! I love the sweeping strokes on the headland and you have achieved a great sense of movement in the water with minimal strokes.

Thanks Bizz! I would love to paint cityscapes successfully this way without creating mud. It is certainly worth trying and will have to see how that turns out.
