Just putting down some kindling and getting the new Campfire burning.  It’s going to start feeling like fall here soon, and I’m rather ready for sweatshirt weather and socks and shoes again.  It’s been a hot summer, and that’s nice, but the cool temps of fall sound ok to me.

Hello to everyone hanging around!  The September Monthly Challenge is up and running.  We love to see fresh artwork here in this forum, so I hope any of you painting, drawing, or sculpting anything of a Southwestern/Western theme will feel free to share.  We’d love to see more activity, so I hope you’ll share any artwork you may have.  No need to be shy.  We’re a pretty friendly bunch around here.

Hi Jenna, thanks for the fire.

We are ready for fall as well.  Here we have at least another month of heat.  We missed going to the mountains.  Two years in a row now.  At least we don’t have to get out in the heat and work in it.

We went to hear country music last night.  Good to get out and talk to someone different.  All my sketching friends have joined the zoom crowd and don’t go out to sketch.  Guess I will have to go on my own.  Not as much fun!

Hope to post something soon.  Hugs.

Hi Jo.  I hope the next month of hot weather treats you kindly.  Yesterday, it was rainy and never got up even close to 70…a taste of autumn, for sure, but it was sure cozy!  I spent much of the day working on updating my website.  Always needing tweaks and work…good thing I enjoy doing that sort of thing.  I’m glad you had a chance to go listen to some live music.  Sounds like fun!  It’s so hard to enjoy virtual stuff like Zoom meetings.  Not too fun, seems like.  I’m not even a phone person, much less a video chat person.

Hello to everyone!  Got a big pair of beef roasts in the crock pot for supper.  In fact, it’s been a kitchen day, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.  Made brownies and chocolate chip cookies, boiled eggs to have on hand for munching, and the roast.  I’ve so missed cooking.  It’s been a very full summer, so it’s nice to have a little kitchen time again.

Tonight’s menu, beef roast with gravy, bread to make “Yankee Pie” with the meat and gravy, and steamed peas.  Chocolate brownies with coconut pecan frosting for dessert.  …I’m low-carb these days, so no brownies or bread for me.  The rest of you, enjoy. :D

Hi, Jenna.  Good day for you.  Funny/strange we had German Chocolate cake with the coconut pecan frosting.  My cake disintegrated so I had to put it in a bowl with the frosting on top.  Tasted great anyway.  And, probably a pot roast tomorrow.  Joanna brought the chocolate chip cookies for the week.

I ordered some Pastelbord hoping that will inspire.  I wipe off old paintings and reuse the board, but sometimes I need a new surface.  Ha.  It came yesterday.  See how it goes.

    Stay heARTful.

Hi everyone!  Just poking the fire awake and making fresh, hot coffee.  Who wants a cup?  The air has the crisp, cool feel of fall around here, so I’m having some! :D

Hi Jo.    So funny with all the coincidences in our menus!  I hope you find inspiration in the new Pastelbord!  Nothing like fresh, new art supplies to get those creative juices flowing!

Nothing too much is new with me.  After a busy summer of art shows, it’s nice to have a little break and take a breather.  Another in November, but I have a bit of time.  I’ve been working on a couple of commissions, both sculpture and drawing, so that’s nice.  After all, I think for most artists including myself, we’d prefer to be making art, not actively working to advertise or sell it, right?  I’m rather an introvert.  Not shy, exactly, but I’m happy when I’m drawing or sculpting.  There’s something about that sacred solitude that is beautiful and unchanging for creatives throughout history.

Hope you all have a great and creative day!

    Good morning my friends,

I’m sure at least some of you have found this post, but I thought it might be worth sharing here as well.  Our beloved, dear, extraordinary WetCanvas is being closed down.  Honestly, I am crestfallen to hear about this, and I don’t know what I’ll do without all of you, my creative and dear friends.  It’s hard news to hear, and though this newer version of WetCanvas isn’t quite as great as the original, it was at least here.  There is some talk of developing and launching an independent website, but only time will tell there.  I sure hope we can build something, because the thought of this website, of all its wonderful members, vanishing is almost too much to bear.

You can find this post stuck at the tops of any channel page, or click here: https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/the-future-of-wetcanvas-all-members-please-read/

:grouphug: Big hugs to all of you, my friends!  I don’t want to lose touch with any of you! :grouphug:

Jenna, it is so sad to lose wetcanvas.  I did join https://creativespark.art/ and also http://paintingfriends.com/
I am Jo Castillo, same ol’ me on both.

Hopefully we can keep up.  I saw Kay on one of them, maybe both.

I do have your info and follow Kay’s blog and also Ron Swearingen.  Maybe a couple of others, my memory is so bad.  I had Hud’s info but it is all shut off.

I’ve been active in the Scavenger Hunts and in Pastels and Plein Air a bit.

    We will see what happens……sigh

Looks like I will be on CS since PF is just http and not as secure.  Was happy to see you and Kreative Kay.  Also ntl from here.  I’m here to the bitter end I guess.  Been around since 2006 which I think is about the same for you Jenna?

Hi to the lurkers.  I’m still trying for one more in the challenge.  Maybe tomorrow.

Hi Jo.  Yes, I’ve joined Creative Spark, as well, and am very glad to see so many familiar folks over there!  I’m jennaboo88 there, too, so that people might “recognize” me by my old name. :)

Poking some life into the fire and serving up fresh, warm apple crisp from our own apples.  Today is my dad’s 65th birthday!

Hope you all are staying creative.  I’ve been working on some commissions before Christmas, so not posting as much work just now.  Hoping you all have a great evening!  We’re seeing cool, crisp temps at night, but tomorrow’s high is in the mid-80s.  Whew, that’s warm for almost October!
