Hi, everybody.
Wow, Kay congratulations on the sales. We were not excited about going to NM this year and that was part of the reason. Didn’t know where we would eat and have fun.
Jenna cute kitty. Know you are still missing your Oliver.
I was working on framing today but messed up a frame so quit for the afternoon. Back at it tomorrow. Doing something art related at least. Ha.

August 26, 2021 at 12:19 pm #1430592Yep, Kay. There are a few places here that ask for masks. I don’t argue, just put one on, but am happier unmasked. Ha.
We missed going to the mountains. Maybe we can go next year. We might go to Arizona to see Gene’s brother in the next couple of weeks. Always like to spend the night in Las Cruces to eat some good NM food. Maybe I’ll get some new photos!
Hi to Jenna and the rest. Be heARTful.

Back from my last art show of the summer, and I’m glad it’s over. It was a pretty great show, but Saturday’s weather sure challenged the best of us. Initial setup (just the “bones”…tent, tables, gridwall, but none of my art) was on Friday. Friday night, it rained and rained and rained, and my tent had a partial collapse, and my sculpture shelf and table got jarred. Luckily, no damage to anything aside from a tiny tear in my tent canopy. Saturday, it rained some more, and then it got windy. What a challenge…it was intense, and I literally had a grip on my gridwall for a couple of hours because it was getting knocked around a bit. By Sunday, the ground was so saturated that most areas would have a pool of mud water rush up to meet your shoes when you stepped. The entry of my booth had a spot where you’d sink an inch or two in mud. Literally, worms were emerging in our booths and it was just squelchy. Yuck! My shoes got wrecked, and my booth was filthy with mud splashes and stains. My art all survived. Somehow. Overall, the weather on Sunday turned out perfect. Sales were quite good, and people were pretty good sports despite the weather. So I’m happy to have gone, and am happy to be back home!
Hi Kay. Congratulations on your wonderful success at art shows too! So happy about that! Thank you for your kindness about Oliver. Can’t believe he’s been gone for almost a month already. Missing him so much. It’s hard to let them go, isn’t it? Your Chuy sounds like a marvelous cat too. 19 years is a wonderful, long life. So glad you had him for all those years. You must have hundreds of memories to treasure of him.
Hi Jo. I hope you’re feeling like getting back to art soon! Do you build your own frames? If so, I’m so impressed! I order frames for my work and frame my own, but the frames come ready to drop the artwork into. Hope the one didn’t get too messed up. Frustrating to have a setback, that’s for sure! Thanks, too, for your sweet comments about Oliver. Sure feels weird not having him here, looking for attention.
It’s almost September already! This month was a busy one and a hard one. Hoping you all enjoy the last day of August!
Jenna
