Wow! That’s awesome. I thought it is water colouring, but you told its Gouache. As a beginner, I am using Copic markers and watercolours to paint. Yes, I started drawing in this quarantine. But I always noticed that the paper becomes hard when paint drys. Maybe I am using the wrong paper. Secondly, it would be a better idea to use Gouache instead of water paints?

I am just following a free online course of painting, and according to them, we should start painting with water and acrylic ones. But I love Gouache. Do you think I should try them? If yes, then which one would be good gouache paint from here https://drawingfan.com/best-gouache-paint/ as a beginner? I love water-soluble with the opacity of acrylic water.

Thanks ShenaMar,the paper is winsor& newton cotman spiral water colour pad,the gouache paint is just a cheap one.The sky is painted very loose using a broad brush and water, dont press to hard or you will go back to bare paper, practice trial and error on spare paper.build up the subject details in layers, the paint tends to sink in especially the whites.
