Heya all , Hi Yorky

“slipped, in the switched Forum after long abstinence. Two questions raise now up after a helpless searching thru ..

First and important:… not getting my jpeg attachment file in size 2,5 MB uploaded, which 5MB claims max. .
Second and middle important: Is there a software switch somewhere to set and see the forum threads from last to first and vice versa?

There is no option to alter the order of threads I’m afraid.

As regards pictures, there is no size limit on Inserted files using the mountain icon.  There is no need to enter width and height. They are shown as fitted to the frame but can be right-clicked to open them in a new tab or window and opened full size,

As regards Attached files, you should have no problems with files that size. Again they are shown as square thumbnails and can be clicked twice to get full size.  The only thing I can think of is the filename may contain illegal characters, it has happened before.

Thanks for your replay .

I figured out few things , like The Forum Subscription is a bit mess .

In my attachment  a pdf of the prob.

More makes me wonder the slow speed of the board special on Profil , is here a server link brakdown ?

Since bugs reported for FW’s iteration of WetCanvas, perhaps deleting all the bug reports for that platform would be beneficial.  Or starting a new thread for the Peak production and move all those bug reports to that thread.

Art is a visual medium. The website redesign is visually unfriendly. When I try to attach photos, they only show up some of the time, despite being well under the size limit. Some photos won’t attach no matter what I do. Photos from old postings made before the redesign do not show up at all.

I’m sure the administrators of this website had their reasons for redesigning the site, but in my view it was a failure. It is functional much worse than it used to be. As a result, I am visiting and using this site much less often, and apparently others have had the same reaction. There is much less activity on the subforums that I visit than there used to be.

A few old sayings come to mind. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. First do no harm.

The site wasn’t redesigned, it was created by Golden Peak media in WordPress to try and replicate the layout of the old site which was on the point of disappearing. It doesn’t come close to those familiar with the old site but at least large parts were rescued. Much was lost and we await a proper search facility for the site and for the Reference Image Library.

As regards pictures inserted images can by any size and an almost unlimited number can be inserted in a single post and positioned within the text. Right-clicking and opening them in a new tab or window allows you to see them full size.

Attached pictures appear at the end of a post, have only a filesize limitation and are limited to for per post.

Where are the images?  So many threads announce the title but no image can be seen.  Not all, but most.

Then there are the posts with attachments but no image such as [ATTACH]868046[/ATTACH] by Vegaskip, one of my favorite artists here.  All of his posts have BBC code for attachments, but there is nothing there.

 

Skill is nothing more than talent practiced relentlessly.
