Having same issue today, as Toril was a month ago. A “database error & double post” message. Too bad, I thought of posting something in a forum. Not so sure I want to proceed further.

I have been getting them too. Your reply will post, even though you get the error. I open replies in a new tab or window, and if my post returns that error when I submit it, I just close the window/tab, and refresh the original page. My post is always there, and prevents a duplicate post.

I’m a new member and have been trying to post a photo to the critique forum and I just get a message saying ” Ack! There is a problem storing your file, email us!”

I have emailed and got no response at all.

Hi Anna, welcome to wetcanvas.

There are problems with the Critique forum. On your third post you can upload your picture, however there is a problem with the Critique forums. I suggest you post in another forum and as for C&C (comments and Criticism).

This is a terrific community and a wonderful resource, and you will find forums for just about every art and craft medium here, it’s worth exploring the full list of the forums.[/url] Read the posting rules at the top of the forums there may be restricted posting.

The links in the top line of my signature will help with the forum and how to resize and post your pictures. You can start uploading pictures on your third post. If you have a particular site problem, click on my name and send me a private message (pm).

hello, again I am sure I am not posting in the right place..but this site is tooo large, I don’t have all day to make sure my post is going under some specific heading, and the headings I have tried to put it under wont take the post.
My problem is this..I have been trying to learn how to use this site and the help page won’t load, hasn’t for several days, it simply won’t load..I get some error about a sql something or another.
Today, My virus scanner Mcafee is telling me this is a dangerous site, It just started doing that today, and yesterday I noticed scrolling thru the different headings and feeds that the pages were acting strangely. Do you guys have any sort of protection on this site?
I am nervous about this site being ‘infected’ in some way? Do I need to worry about that?

We don’t have any special protection that I know of. We get occasional reports like yours but these are usually discounted.

Both administrators make daily checks and delete hundreds of spambot applications for membership.

Just so everyone knows, if you have an avatar up, don’t even go to “My WC” I was checking the profile picture feature. I have never had a profile picture so thought I would try it. When it told me it didn’t upload, it also took my avatar picture away so I now have one of the stock ones too. This site just keeps gifting us with more and more unworkables.

If you're asking me for advice, I'm going to assume that you've run out of rational options.

I wish WC would just disable the custom feature if they are not going to fix it.

I totally agree. Chat is broke (three years), Avatar uploader broke (at least a year), search is broke (not sure how long). I have suggested that they just archive what is left of the site before they completely demolish it and start a new one with new software. At least if they archive the site, we could view it at any time but at the rate it is going, there won’t be much left to view. And this used to be such a wonderful community site.

If you're asking me for advice, I'm going to assume that you've run out of rational options.
