I have had a nasty cold for over two weeks.  It is my habit to continue my daily walks even when a bit down.  The weather on this walk was a rain, snow & ice pellet mix.  This is a type of subject that I have tried before.  I kept the paint strokes loose. 8×8″ acrylics on Gessobord.  C&C welcome.  Gary

Wow, home run, Gary!  You really captured the scene.  Like being there!  Awesome wet street!

This is really lovely, Gary. You made it look as though it’s from another time almost. Wonderful brush strokes all round. Well done!

What a great painting that really captures the mood of a rainy day. Hope your cold gets better. Probably better to stay inside in the warm but I am the same going for a walk each day even with a sore shoulder that today got worse!!

Gary: Lovely lose moody brush strokes and earthy pallet. The reflections on the melting snow are a nice touch :good: . The vehicles are well done, but a slight touchup up to the near side wheels/underside to make square with bumper would push it up a notch. Hope your cold improves quickly. Arnie

You made a cold, rainy day something beautiful and worth appreciating, Gary.  I like the looser brushstroke style!  I hope you’re over that cold by now and feeling much better.

This is tremendous Gary!  Those cars are so good technically and excellent reflections. What a beautiful job and my new favorite of yours!…

Thanks Reed.  I came home with a good idea how I wanted this to looked.  I hoped that it worked.

Thanks Matthew.  Maybe the other time feeling comes from the street light.  It was a part of the scene that attracted me.

Thanks Caroline.  I have my crack pot idea that exercising while sick keeps me better able to come back by keeping my heart and lungs in shape.  I would say the same about your shoulder.  If you don’t use it, you lose it?

Thanks Gopal.  I appreciate your encouragement.

Thanks Arnie.  I will let this rest for a couple weeks while I travel.  Then I will take a closer look at the details.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks Donna.  My cold is better but I have an enduring dry cough.  We are flying out Sunday for a Christmas Market Trip with my wife’s sisters.  I am stocking up on cough drops.  I do not want to be ejected from the plane out over the Atlantic.

Thanks Wes.  I dread painting cars but they do bring reality to a painting.

                                Thanks again, Gary

                                    Wonderful feeling to this one.

Everything else being equal, I would rather be in the painting zone.
