I’ve been doing some drawing on procreate. I’ve never done any sort of digital art. I’m finding this very relaxing! I love the symmetry option. I used to do paper cutting (scherenschnitte) I have rheumatism, I’m limited with cutting by hand but I think this will be good for designing then I can send it my cutter to cut..

This were just for fun and practice but feel free to critique or ask questions if you’d like. They’re all freehand.

This one I made into an animation as well.

Thanks! That’s mine too. I think the brighter colors of the first layer of that one works better then the other ones colors.

I like the mermaid tickling the dragon’s chin best. The kissing fish in the first one is cute, too. Are they done using a scratchboard-like method?

I like using the “mirror painting” tool” in Painter, but all I’ve done is play with it a couple times with no idea what to create, but you’ve given me a couple ideas – thanks for that.

        Thank you!

        This is what I did.

Layer 1: random color splotches then used a Gaussian blur to smooth the edges. I saw one lady online used the smudge tool to make it looks like those ones we used to do in school with colored pencil under crayon, I liked the smoother vellum sort of look. You could really do anything or even one bright color.

Layer 2: filled with a dark then set the drawing guide to whatever symmetry option and then used the erase tool to draw.

I like the monoline brush for these it gives a nice smooth edge.

I like them very much, I like all 4, true about colors 2 and 4 I like them a lot for the optical effect, I like the 3 a lot for the story, the characters, so I don’t have a real favorite, nice job.

I have procreate and ipad for almost 2 months I have not tried the symmetry option yet, but I had seen it on video and I had looked for an explanation of use to try it, it seems beautiful to me.
one thing I really like and trying the various brushes, besides the ones included I really like that
