    Size: 6 in. x 9 in.
    Paper: Arches cold press 140lb

    This is my first time using white gouache to add highlights, and I think that makes a huge difference to the finished painting. I’m definitely seeing progress in this one too, when I look back and compare it with paintings I’ve done in the past. Of course, having a better quality paper doesn’t hurt either. :wink2:

        Very, very nice! I really like your color choices and the use of gouache for the spines was a very good idea.

                        This looks awesome. Very inspiring. Love your deep rich color choices. Really love the purple in the green cactus. And your surrounding bottom background is flawless. Great job. Bravo!

                        Thank you all for your kind words! I’m glad to hear that the shadows worked out. I really was struggling with that part of it, for some reason; I’m not sure why. It’s probably something I need to practice more.
