You are fortunate to have such an adorable model. I really have no crit for you other than to suggest you look into Sherlock’s real eyes and see if there might be a bit more brown in them. I’m impressed that you achieved such beautiful texture in his coat without pencils. Well done!

What a great painting of this little dog. I love the pose and the textures are beautiful as is the wonderful complimentary background. I feel that you could have brought his eyes out a little more but that’s just me, I love painting dog’s eyes. Well done!

Karen, I know what you are talking about the brown color in his eyes. The reference photo I used is all black because it was taken indoor at night with lighting from his back. I debated about it for a little bit when I was painting his eyes and wasn’t brave enough to deviate from the reference photo too much.
Pugwash, I agree the eyes can stand out a bit more.
