This subject may have been covered but,,,I just answered the the size of tube thread, and wondered how others store their colors, I have a large toolbox with drawers and I separate them by brand and then by color,,but I wonder if others just do colors regardless of brand?

At least twice a year, paint something better than you ever painted before.July 11, 2018 at 5:44 pm #656776I use a variety of brands that I have grown to like over the years. I store my tubes in two plastic boxes with dividers in them. I put the oranges, reds, pinks, etc. in one box and the greens, blues, and earth colors in the other.
I just sort them by color, not worried about brands because they are the colors I like and use.

July 11, 2018 at 7:43 pm #656775years ago I painted in watercolors and stored tubes in a cardboard box. I used other mediums for years. I went back to watercolors and started a whole new bag of current tubes.
July 11, 2018 at 11:28 pm #656793I got tired of digging through my paint box to find the hue I wanted so I put up a cork bulletin board, got push pins and some small binder clips … I hang my paint tubes on the board… hung by binder clip on push pin ( binder clip on flat end of tube, front clip pushed down against tube).. now all my colors are within reach & I can see where a desired tube is at a glance. Hope this helps

These are the two boxes I bought at a local Walmart store in their hardware department for a couple of dollars each. They don’t take up much room.
Here is the one with blues and greens in it. The compartments help keep them sorted nicely.
and this is the one with my warm colors, reds, yellows and earth:

At least twice a year, paint something better than you ever painted before.July 12, 2018 at 9:19 pm #656791Hello,
Char, please what is the name of this store ? Can we still order from them ??
Thank you so much lucky you !July 12, 2018 at 10:51 pm #656782My paint tubes are in clear bags, separated by student grade or artist grade, and then sorted by color family. The bags are in a drawer, along with extra pans. I used to have them in a cigar box, then two cigar boxes, then outgrew that and could not find paints without digging for a while. The clear bags have solved that.
July 12, 2018 at 11:18 pm #656779Virgil, the 37 ml tubes were clearance priced and I got a couple of colours for only $5 each. Since I “top up” my Students’ palettes, I do go through a lot of paint.
Addmud, Currys no longer sell Da Vinci paint. I honestly don’t know what they did with the few colours that were left after the sale.
It’s really a shame because there is no place in Canada that now sells this brand.
