Only in recent years have we started collecting these wonderful plants. I’ve wanted this colour for ages and it was an early Christmas present to ourselves. This is a present to a friend. I hope she likes it!

Gorgeous – flowers are beautifully done.

Don’t know if it’s been given yet …….. the only bit that doesn’t gel here is the bottom right leaf …… may be the photo of course but its tone and colour draw the eye away from the majesty of the flowers. (JMHO y’know!!!) :)

        Cheers, Maureen

No excuses: it could be better but the camera isn’t really giving the vibrancy of the colours and there is a nasty camera flash on that leaf. It’s in shadow and is actually painted a dark green-brown.
Need a new camera and a new pair of eyes!!

Oh, they’re lovely. I love orchids but don’t have any luck growing them for any length of time.

Thank you. The leaves are very smooth which makes them difficult to paint and they are not near the flowers so they don’t really enhance them. Trouble is, I love green. HAVE to have green in a flower painting. Don’t worry…a sort of OCD colour thingy!

KiwiKate: We have had some failures. Orchids like steam so are best in the bathroom or kitchen.

Great orchid! You’ve got the whole plant in, the leaves and stems, the great branch of all the blossoms. It’s very cool. I used to have one once, but it died, it wasn’t this sort but I love seeing these.
