Saw an photograph of an old tree in Australia and liked the light and composition. This is 28×16 on watercolor paper. I really liked the texture and the effect of applying color. I did an an under painting with NuPastels and water, then used both hard and soft pastels to finish. C and C welcome.

I can see why you liked this tree, Pete. What a great sense of strength and character! This is such a nice painting and thank you for showing your steps!

Your painting has drama, light and feeling of great distance. This is outstanding!

The light is bright and beautiful and the yellow grass with the purple shadows looks great.
