Beautiful Raj. I see you’ve given the painting a warm feel changing the time of day too. Due to backlighting the leaves might be a shade darker. For this purpose I mix some green with a tiny amount of black or as needed to darken my green with some mineral turpentine.

        Christel,
Most of that warmness came from my room light. So I took another picture this morning in the daylight, and the painting looks more like this.

I will implement your suggestion in next round. Thank you.

I darkened some of the shaded areas of leaves as suggested by Christel and finalized the painting. It is ~8×10 inches using Crya-Pas Expressionists OPs on a 90lbs Strathmore Wet Media paper.

Nice work, Raj – I think all the additional work has really been worth the effort. Lovely!

Thanks Rich. I’ve never seen a raccoon in real life . only in videos and photos.

Since raccoons are so common in my part of the world, it’s hard to imagine them not being everywhere. You’ve done a great job with the fur, the eyes, and captured that inquisitive little personality.

Thanks Terri. I guess my equivalent would be the suricate or the meerkat.
