I was so excited that i figured out how to make a new banner heading for the blog so the momentum carried me to finish it! I am thinking about updating my regular blog now….or should I paint!

my blog ....................November 3, 2009 at 7:20 pm #505895I’ve found time to do some painting, so here’s my week:
variation 11
variation 12
variation 13,So–do you think I lost my mind on the last one? (I love it!) It’s Pans on Colourfix Premium. The other two are sticks on buttercup Pastelmat.
Anyway, if I can get all my pix into a gallery I’ll post the whole month to the October gallery thread, but I preferred to paint.

"We derive more benefit from having our faults pointed out by our enemies than from hearing the opinions of friends." (Leonardo da Vinci 1452-1519)November 3, 2009 at 8:32 pm #505960Deborah and Tressa – these are great! Love the 3rd very abstracted version you did, Deborah. I just wish I could see the entire painting without having to pan down my screen.
Tressa – I really like the sense of depth and texture you got with those orange grasses with the blue water.
I’m not sure when I’ll have time to get back on track with the challenge, so I’ll live vicariously through everyone else’s work for the time being!

Tressa, I really like yours too. Amazing what you can do with the pans. I have to try them someday!
KarenNovember 3, 2009 at 11:13 pm #505896Thanks for the nice comments everyone! #13 has a lot of swing and sway to it.

Tressa, love the orange and I love the sky in that one too.
I seem to have lost momentum and have only done one this week so far. Am I right that the week started on 11/1 though so I’ve still got a few days?My website http://ruthmannpastelart.com/

November 4, 2009 at 2:53 pm #505924“yea Ruthie, I think this week has a few more days, but just jump back in, and thanks.
One interesting thing I realized, is after the second painting, I haven’t even used my ref pic any more. I misplaced it when I started my 3rd, and so just winged it, and then never used it again after…
I also noticed, like a few others, going for similar color choices, even if they were dif values…hmmmMy Webpage: www.zhibit.org/treshommel

1 and 2 are on colourfix
I had not tried a nocturne before so that was fun
No 3 was smooth canson and 4 was colourfix primer on an offcut of mat board.
