This was one of my favorites I completed at the end of 2016. I felt like I successfully transformed the reference picture enough that it was 100% my own; I doubt the original photographer would recognize it even.

I dunno, it just spoke to me. There’s always a decent percentage of work I am not completely pleased with when I look it over (much) later; this one I am still happy with.

Oddly I have this same frame in three sizes! It’s from the late teens or early ‘20s, but somehow I’ve acquired three, and a fourth that is extremely similar.

Lovely! Has a wonderful, mysterious feel to it. :)

Wow. Very reminiscent of Albert Blakelock, or perhaps Albert Pinkham Ryder. Each of these artists painted great nocturnes. You can consider that a true compliment!

Google these guys; you should gain a lot of inspiration for your next painting!

Beautiful painting, and it looks great in that frame.

Thanks for the names Bill, I have never heard of either one.

                        Loved the dramatic air!
                        Congratulations!

Beautiful painting, the moon is mesmerizing. I like your signature, if you painted it freehand, wow. Unless you used another method? You don’t have to reveal how you did it, but, I wil be wondering…

My cat is the inspiration for my paintings. Cassandra is in all my paintings, as she wants to live in a better world. She and millions of her feline family are suffering silently needlessly. https://www.facebook.com/OilPaintingsofCatDreams/
