Thanks, Lulu!! Appreciate the hugs! Didn’t know I could do it, till I tried. I figured that abstracts or very small simple objects would be the best…but so far I am having fun and painting like I normally do…just small!!
I have done 2 masters, a seascape, two landscapes, an old dif strokes, and a skyscape (?) so far. They may not be great, but they do at least look like what they are supposed to be.

Your ATC is wonderful! Great work.
February 9, 2009 at 4:02 am #1124440Wow, I really envy you guys for being able to create such beautiful copies of Bouguereau with arcylics.
Silvia ---- C&C always welcome ^-^
February 9, 2009 at 10:56 am #1124414I LOVE the participation this month!! Great job everyone! You’ve all found out, as I have, that Bouguereau’s paintings were in the realm of amazing, more like near impossible to reproduce!
I’m having enourmous troubles… and I quit for a while to get my head cleared and paint a few of my own paintings… I’ll revisit The Little Knitter in a few days.. but DARN is it difficult! That’s why I love this challenge!-Brian

http://brianstiner.wordpress.comFebruary 9, 2009 at 11:18 am #1124482Hi guys- you had a good night yesterday, and Susan you had a personal invitation to join long ago; I’m glad you took the chance. And, now an invitation to “sparkling” to join us and bring us all of her charms.
OK, primed a new canvas, sketched it, inked it, put on a green toning layer. Changed paint brands for the under painting anyway. The canvas is dry, non sticky, not slick, just right. Round 2, begins today.
I live in a small town too, but we have a 24 hour wal*mart that feeds many other small towns as well. Jeanne and I took the night and went to the Sunday night senior sit in. She’s not a senior and she brightens the area.
After the sitting and talking inside, we go outside and join the young kids in the parking lot. We suck face along with the kids then laugh and head on home.
No more mediums for me, I have switched to “walrus gumboot”:music:
See ya with an update soon.
Good to see you Brian- thanks for starting this!

February 9, 2009 at 9:53 pm #1124483Debbie, you have returned as you promised. That’s good.
I don’t have an update to show you. That’s bad.
Maybe something to show tomorrow. That’s good.
Tired tonight, must turn in early. That’s bad.Ozone
February 10, 2009 at 12:39 am #1124382February 10, 2009 at 11:00 am #1124484I’m going strait for the dead layer. Im using FolkArt paint from wal*mart and gesso. Gesso is not a paint and is formulated differently, so you do need to stop and let it dry well from time to time. But when it is dry there is no tack and no slickness.
Little guy almost done. I have no clue how to color this after the dead layer. Funny, I used to chide my friends about painting with these colors, all two of them. They are always right.

February 10, 2009 at 11:55 am #1124329Have you read the write up of how Cupid came to love her? enchanting.
Enjoy
LesFebruary 10, 2009 at 12:16 pm #1124485No, I have not read that. I guess he and I are in competition then. Will you read the story of how I defeat cupid, win her love, and we dance down the yellow brick road? Exciting say I.

February 10, 2009 at 1:04 pm #1124383lol Ozone you are too funny! I’m the one that married Cupid.
Hey what I did when adding colour to my dead layer was mix my colours on the pallet then add water. Then run the brush over the dead layer loosely. Just like colouring in! Its fun!February 10, 2009 at 1:59 pm #1124486Thanks Debbie,
Is it really that easy? I hope so because this has been a struggle. Yours went quickly, I remember, as soon as you started coloring.
Now if you married cupid, then the girl is free and I only need to find her. Outstanding!
Just for Lulu: well golly miss Molly.
I guess I better paint some, the sooner I finish, the sooner I can search.

February 10, 2009 at 2:20 pm #1124384It was that easy for me. The hard part of it all was the dead layer.
I did mention it was a thin wash of colour, didn’t I?
Let the dead layer do the dark and lights for you.good luck at finding your girl!
