Everything else being equal, I would rather be in the painting zone.

Wow, this is absolutely gorgeous in colour and compostion. The attention to detailing in the marigolds is superb and I honestly feel like I could walk right into this piece and pick a beautiful bouquet of them. Wonderful light effects throughout and those skyholes finish off that background beautifully. That shirt on the line creates wonderful balance to the piece as well.
A feast for the eyes my friend.
July 2, 2023 at 6:07 am #1518429Beautiful scene and backyard Derek! Those marigolds are painted so well and I love how you incorporated the cool and warm greens in the background. The warm notes harmonize with the orange flowers perfectly.

C&C always welcomeJuly 3, 2023 at 9:03 am #1518577They are such beautiful flowers and you painted them so well. The dark backdrop of the woods is beautiful in itself, while helping to push the marigolds forwards. It is a fun scene to contemplate. Gary

Still much to paint and much to learn!

Truly brilliant work and the one shirt on clothesline anchors the composition well. Love marigolds and these are so gorgeous

Well done on doing all the individual marigolds, they have a lovely flow. Like the backdrop shrubbery with the light coming thru . I used to live in Mount Vernon – I put up a washing line between some trees but dont think the other residents were too happy!
