Looking in Antique shops for paletts and I fell over this:-
Stained in places but probably worth the $50 asking price. Yet another compulsive buy.
Cheers

May 18, 2012 at 6:01 am #1163057JJ,
You will have to forgive me if I don’t reveal the name of the shop where I found the “Boby”. Suffice to say it’s in the western suburbs.
Having had quite a lot to do with the Brisbane Antique / Second hand Dealers over the years (even displaying wood working tools at Antique Fairs) I know that thay don’t put anything on their shop floor before researching it to find the value (then add 25%).
How the taboret slipped through their net I can only conject that the only clue was the designers name and that the “Boby” didn’t come up on a Google search. The the fact that Joe Colombo was a well known Italian furniture designer of the 60’s should have rung bells but it obviously didn’t.
I could get lucky again!!!
Cheers

May 18, 2012 at 12:45 pm #1163049Actually a Google search was quite simple. To get the link I gave above ^^^ I just searched “joe colorubo artist trolley” and a clue to its actual name came up on the first page. It was really easy to track down from there. The fact that I misread “Columbo” didn’t even make any difference. The second-hand dealer shouldn’t have had any trouble finding it.
Our access and ability to search for information on the internet now is simply amazing.:)BrianB
