I love Christel’s art of walking a Tegu lizard of remarkable size….Susie’s dragon looks dutifully embarrassed about his faux pas….Dianne’s “Fire and Ice Cream” is witty and cute and her second ones are classic in style…wings and all.

I painted a WYVERN…it’s kind of a dragon. This was inspired by the stop motion one at the finish of JACK THE GIANT KILLER except my painting in acrylics is a little less rubbery than the model in the movie. Same idea, though.

Woody what a marvelous mash up on that creature. Hyena head, Bird of prey body, (nice feathers) a snake tail and lovey purple-red bat wings.

Thanks…I started with a basic sketch and then went to town with the python reference for the tail…maybe it’s a boa, I don’t remember. There is a lot of detail on the tail and I sort of cartooned the rest of it out.:)

Here’s mine: I found out long ago, in Fletcher Pratt’s The Incompleat Enchanter, that dragons were considered (in China) to be bringers of rain. So, here’s mine:

Attalus I like Chinese Dragons no wings but the still get around, isn’t magic grand? Nice face on this one and yes you did do a lot of scales.
