GUIDELINES:
On the first of each month a subject, concept or idea will be posted in a thread entitled Fantasy Science Fiction Monthly Challenge and Chat. All entries must be new original artworks for this challenge in any style or genre of Fantasy or Science Fiction done in any medium, 2D or 3D.
Join in the discussion about the project – it’s friendly and fun to learn how others are coping/struggling/thriving!!! But no visual images! Help can be gained from asking but also from looking for resource materials elsewhere such as the Reference Image Library or best of all your own wonderful imagination!
A ‘reveal’ date for all is 21th of the month – that gives us a little over 3 weeks to make the work, plus few extra days for latecomers, feel free to post till the end of the month, then a new Challenge will be posted. Please post the finished artwork on this thread at that time.
The Challenge this month is “Dragons”
Dragons have made appearances in several of our challenges but we haven’t actually had a Dragon challenge.
So do any type of dragon or dragons.
Have fun!

My DeviantArt GalleryJune 1, 2018 at 10:04 am #633061Ah dragons.
I have painted a bunch with the intention of making a book. But my decision making problems have kept me from doing anything with it. I had seen paintings of smooth skinned dragons and liked them and that’s how I painted mine. But lately I’ve been thinking about adding some texture to them. It’s just really hard to decide what I want to do exactly. I guess I better figure that out soon.
C&C always welcome. Michelle

June 3, 2018 at 11:22 am #633025I’m glad everyone is happy with dragons, I thought you would be.
I finally posted the Gallery for May 2018, sorry it was a tad late.
Yard work today, but I hope to start on my dragon tonight.
I have a idea I love so I hope it works out.

My DeviantArt GalleryJune 3, 2018 at 10:32 pm #633046My son had a bad accident on his bike (his bicycle bike not his motorcycle). He hit a huge crack in the road and it flipflopped him. He ended up breaking his arm. It’s pretty bad he broke two bones. He has a huge cast on, sees a specialist tomorrow. If he’s keeping the cast, I’ll do a dragon on it for him.
It’s funny though, last year he saw a car go off the road and hit a fence. He got out realized the guy was in full cardiac arrest and did cpr till the emergency people got there. So they gave him a humanitarian award for stopping and he thought it was a bit silly to get an award and says to me “Who wouldn’t stop?”. Then this happened and not one person stopped, not one! He had wounds and was pretty bloody and I mean really.
Thank goodness, he did have safety equipment on though!

June 4, 2018 at 10:18 am #633062Virginia, hope your son heals quickly and glad it wasn’t any worse.
Yard work for me today, need to get the grass cut. Also need to get my old computer out of this room to make room to paint. I’ll think I’ll tackle the acrylic challenge first.

Every painting is a new adventure.June 4, 2018 at 3:24 pm #633078Virginia, we once saw a car run off the road, so we pulled over and went through the gap in the barbed wired fence it had made. The passengers were all right, just a young couple who had been having what I called a “tiff,” and Susie a “”spat-fest.” We laughed about it all the way home, like Bonnie and Clyde. Kudos to your son for being thoughtful in a better cause.

June 4, 2018 at 7:17 pm #633026Oh Virginia I hope your son will be OK!
Two bones so is it his lower arm? Which side?I hope the specialist helps and he is fine after he heals up.
It was great he is a helper, what a generous person. There was a study once upon a time that had the ratio of helping goes up in a remote area and goes down in a more populated area.
If you are the only person on the road you know if you don’t help no one else will be there to help.
If you are in a populated area you think someone else will help….and that’s also what everyone else thinks. So no one stops to help ever!
Sad but true.
I’ve always lived rural and help out most of the time.
The exception is a Colorado thing…. you are going slow in the snow and some idiot passes you and throws snow all over your windshield and car, then a few miles down the road you see them off the road and stuck in a ditch. Then you just smile and wave as you go by!
If it looked bad I would help but it’s always been just a stuck car and frustrated people.
