Good news too, after two weeks of rain every day, the radar is clear for today. I’m so tired of rain but I have a feeling that we’re going to go into a drought by the end of the summer.
My garden is struggling with all the rain but I did get a big crop of chamomile already so it’s drying with some mint. Yum.
Hope everyone is well!

Enjoy your sunshine. We are getting more rain in Texas for a change with storms again forecast for tonight. Our house roof and my studio roof were hailed upon so will need new ones.

June 3, 2019 at 7:37 pm #834084Hi Virginia, thanks for postings great photos. I’m a little concerned with all this rain too. I have the same feeling that we may end up in a drought by the end of summer. Worried about the farmers and the crops through out the Midwest and the south. May be a tough year. Last I heard the ground was so wet they still hadn’t gotten all the crops planted yet. Only about 20% and usually by May they have 90% in.. might have gone up a little in the last week since it didn’t rain quite so much but it’s going to rain again tonight.
Artsy mom i’m Feeling for all those people hit hard by tornadoes and flooding. It’s really got to be hard on the elderly and the poor people. I can hardly imagine how hard it must be for an older person to deal with a flood and all the damage it causes. Hard enough for a young person to deal with but at least they are usually strong.
Hi Sandy and Kay
Wow SoCalDan already have one posted and it is a beauty. Captured that personality of that little guy.June 3, 2019 at 11:13 pm #834056WOW these photos are awsome!!!! What is the rule. Do you have a date you can present? Or you start anytime and submit in the month of June? Sorry for my ignorance.
Thank you! You can do them at your leisure and submit them at any time.:)
Dan, that looks great! I would like that as a card, I find it so appealing. It’s kind of funny but I have a raccoon who has figured out how to scale the big poles and drink the hummingbird food. I think she/he is addicted to the sugar, I dont’ think she’s pregnant at this time of year but she sure is fat!
Floblue, we broke one record for flooding then the river went down a bit and then it came up again and we broke another record. The fields around us are all water, there are ducks and geese and swans everywhere. I’m seeing birds, I’ve never seen at my house before. And bugs, my goodness, the bugs are ridiculous!
I live near our “international” airport (I put that in quotes because it’s called an international airport but it’s such a tiny airport and they actually plant corn and soybeans between the runways) which has roads on three of it’s sides. Two of the roads are closed because there is water over them. Driving down the interstate is weird too because the water is up to the shoulders.
I live on a big big hill so we’re okay but the little river in my woods is raging and has already taken out a couple trees. It’s so wet, they are just falling over. Freaks poor Sammy out every time.
We had another fairly dry day today so I went and weeded the heck out of my garden, will go do my son’s tomorrow, he works so much it’s getting away from him.
I have poison ivy! There’s this cream stuff called Zantel, it’s about $30 but you put it on then wash it off and it sucks all the poison out. It’s the only thing I’ve found that works. I don’t have any right now and the store is closed so it’s going to be an itchy itchy night.

Find me on FacebookJune 4, 2019 at 5:16 pm #834085Sorry to hear about the poison ivy. Haven’t gotten that yet and pray I never do but thanks for the tip in case I hear about someone getting it. It rained hear again today but it’s stopped for a few hours.. but it’s forecast for rain again tonight, we have one of those little international airports too. It’s part of ohare. It just used to be Rockford airport but they renamed it when UPS put some planes there. Have an art meeting tonight they are bringing in a tattoo artist to give a talk. The. There will be a critique. I don’t think I will bring anything.
June 4, 2019 at 7:52 pm #834087Nice racoon, Dan.
Sorry about the rains and poison ivy. At least summer is here, right?

June 5, 2019 at 1:41 pm #834074I like your raccoon, Dan!
I wouldn’t mind having at least some of your rain:wink2:
That poison ivy sounds horrible.
I actually already painted the raccoon too, but my mind was elsewhere again and it doesn’t fit in with the mini guidelines:lol: I did post it though hereChristel
June 5, 2019 at 8:00 pm #834057Floblue, that sounds interesting. There are some amazing tattoo artists.
Lawrence, that’s true, after all that ice, the warm weather is nice. Winter must be on it’s way for you. Do you get snow where you live?
Christel, your raccoon is beautiful. Love your elephants too. They are so so smart.

June 7, 2019 at 9:01 am #834088Loved that racoon you painted Christel. Quite adorable yet impish. And your other works impressed me, especially those birds.
It hardly snows in Queensland, Virginia, especially where I live. But we do experience those icy Southern winds sometimes blowing up from Antarctica. Back in the day, when I lived in the Canterbury region of the South Island, the Southern Alps was only a few hours drive away. Best place to live in NZ, the South Island. Being born and raised in the North Island, that’s a huge concession to make. But I still believe we still play the best rugby — even if the Crusaders are supreme at the moment. The Auckland Blues will return to their winning ways soon, if not to their former glory days of the Ranfurly Shield era. *sigh*
