April 17, 2018 at 8:42 am #602553Seems as if the paper is quite textured?
It is coming along nicely. Egg has shape, would like to see it a bit “smoother.”April 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm #602573You are right, Deke. Maybe the Vellum was a mistake?

April 17, 2018 at 6:25 pm #602611my only problem with the drawing is that you have a dark line around the highlight to the right of the yolk that I assume is the white of the egg (I know its raw) which means to make it blend into the drawing you are going to have to do the white as dark as the line which means you may have to darken the yolk again which will ruin the work you have done, may I suggest that instead of drawing the highlights in that you put them in as you shade (negative drawing I believe it’s called) that way even as you blend the highlight will still be lighter and there should be no cartoon type lines.
How’s that for serious banter?April 17, 2018 at 8:38 pm #602574Gordon, that line isnt as dark ad it appears and it will go completely away.. Great point though. I need to stop relying on lines even just to get things in proper perspective. I appreciate your advice and Deke’s! And even Ken-ish…

April 17, 2018 at 9:39 pm #602554You are right on, stop using lines to define the areas you need to work. The lines you put down to define the drawing are only a guide. You should not re-define them. Use values to define the area you are working.

April 20, 2018 at 6:07 pm #602597Great start on this chucky egg, Bren. A bit of a challenge on the vellum paper. I’ve tried it and can’t for the life of me get things smooth
Jan. C & c's always welcome.
April 20, 2018 at 10:07 pm #602613try using an iron but make sure(now this is important) that you plug it in and switch it on, I know we are talking about something with two or three working parts but as confusing as this is for you ladies I am sure you will eventually manage it. GOOD LUCK!!

I’ll have you know I’m very technically minded. We had an assessment in senior school and my result stated that I should actually be a boy!!!! Explains a lot, hahaha

April 21, 2018 at 5:00 am #602599Starch can also be helpful sometimes.
I’m not sure that would work on drawing paper, Ken! :clear:

All roads seem to lead back to Brenda … hmmm … Have we figured out what she ought to be yet?
April 21, 2018 at 9:51 am #602614committed?
April 22, 2018 at 9:57 am #602615oh oh I think Brenda must of nipped to the shops to replace the broken eggs and forgotten where she lives, dementia is an awful illness so if anybody sees her wandering about (easy to spot has egg boxes in her hands) can they please return her to the home for bewildered women, thank you in advance
