April 15, 2018 at 5:18 pm #602567Ken, since I can’t understand the code (being female) I may have to resort to saying one of those “high falutin’ words” that confound you and Gordon!
Here’s an update, after I finally found my 4H Caran d’ache graphite pencil which is, quite frankly, awesome for blending! They also make a 9B, which I adore as well! I had forgotten the 4H pencil because I am using my new Derwents (no 4H in sight). But Ken reminded me that I need to blend, blend, blend…4 H is perfect for blending.
I’ve been blending. Here’s an update! The one on top is more accurately reflecting the image. I was sleepy last night and lazily didn’t make any adjustments to my pic. It was darker than it should be. But you can see how much smoother the top one is than the bottom.
I have also ever so slightly changed the shape so that she isn’t so perfectly round (like an egg) more tilted up on our right side and more oval (like an egg yolk). And I’ve done some more work on the highlights (The B is gone!) The highlight is most likely not exactly right yet, but I will tweak it more if needed. Thanks for looking!

You can attract more omelettes with molasses than vinegar.

Vinegar or molasses…you are a superb drawing teacher, Ken and that is no lie! You’ve taught me so much through the years…heartfelt compliment this.
go ahead and write that in your little book of compliments…and date it, you won’t remember it otherwise,

If I want to date someone I’ll pick a living female … not some dumb book. Sheesh! You have the silliest ideas …

April 17, 2018 at 6:53 am #602571So, not a great update but I’ve done a bit more blending. There was too much light and it needed toning down some on the interior of the egg yolk. I’ve done some more work on the shadowy under the egg yolk and have outlined the highlights outside the egg as well. I’m not happy with this pic, it’s darker than is depicted. I will try to get a better one later.
