People, it’s been six years since I completed a drawing. I’ve dabbled but I’m jumping in! I have six total grands now (all their mama’s want drawings), plus I may have some commissions coming up. I NEED to brush up. I have chosen this great reference from the reference library to brush up my skills. It is a color picture that I threw into photoshop and made suitable for graphite. I haven’t started but will do so, hopefully tonight…thought I’d go ahead and share my reference…

April 10, 2018 at 4:55 pm #602578If you’re drawing your grandchildren like this, don’t you think their mothers would appreciate it if you at least waited for them to hatch naturally? I mean you’ll probably get a better likeness that way …
April 10, 2018 at 7:10 pm #602601oh wow your grandchildren are really cute, its so nice to see them coming out of their shell
April 10, 2018 at 7:40 pm #602556Yuk it up, fellas! I will get to my babies eventually…

C and C always welcome.
My DeviantArt GalleryApril 11, 2018 at 12:26 pm #602602OH NO ! Dianna that was uncalled for, I was going to say something along those lines but chickened out, as I thought it was laying it on two much, I think you have some eggsplaining to do,
April 11, 2018 at 1:17 pm #602557I am completely EGGcited that you folks are going to follow along…
This isn’t a great update, but it is what it is. I started with the egg yolk (of course, who wouldn’t?) on the right bottom side. I am using Derwent graphite pencils on Canson Bristol Vellum paper. This is a layer of 4B, then 2H, 4B and finally 2B. I’m not finished by any means, just laying soft layers in to start. This scan isn’t the best but gives you somewhat of an idea. Because the correct tonal value will be hard to determine until I start laying in more layers around this side, I won’t know if I have the right value here yet. It still needs much more work. But I AM working on it.
Thanks for watching! Hope it will help me recapture some skills!

K, one day my circle blob thingy is going to grow up and be a beautiful broken egg. Most women hate those btw because they are so blasted hard to get up!
