I am always interested in hearing what others see in my work as it helps me to gain new insights in what I have done. This is an 8×12 drawing, ~ Steve

https://www.bendykowski.art/August 20, 2021 at 6:55 pm #1429310Looks melanholic on my point of view. The skies from above of that building is kind making pressure on the primitive construction of that barn itself.
No matter who you are and where you from. The only matter is what you can do, what you cannot and the choice that you making. I don't remember where I have heard it...
August 21, 2021 at 12:21 am #1429341My initial impression is that the picture is an illustration of a story. It’s creepy, it suggests something unpleasant is about to happen and I think that’s what you intended.
It’s a very good drawing, is it digital, if it is, what app did you use?

This drawing is digital and was done in Procreate on an iPad. I have been working very hard to get the same level of detail that I can attain in an oil painting (see attachment). I am almost there. I realize that a drawing will not have the transparency of the glazes that I use in oil, but drawings have their own aesthetic which I love.
I used to enjoy making intaglio and litho prints as it allowed me to sell at a reasonable price, but no longer have access to the equipment. I am hoping the digital “plate” is the answer. Those that enjoy my work can download it and even print it for their enjoyment. If they want a signed print, I can sell one at a reasonable cost. ~ Steve

https://www.bendykowski.art/August 22, 2021 at 6:37 am #1429641I’m interested to see that you used Procreate.
I bought a copy a year ago. Learning to use it effectively was more difficult than I expected, and only now can I use all the features – and there are lots of them – in the app.
I’ve painted and drawn a lot more using Procreate and an iPad because it’s so convenient once you know how to use it. It’s easier to paint with Procreate rather than use traditional materials.

I agree, it sure is convenient and I am sure if the masters had it at their disposal they would have used it. It’s just another tool for an artist. Keep working at it. Have you watched any of the tutorials? That helped me… plus my 15 year old grand-daughter showed me some tricks! If you have any questions let me know. ~ Steve
