help with attaching print to mat

Hi, I have made a series of small prints and I am trying to hinge them to the mat. I’m using hinging tape the self adhesive type. I’m new to this, so please bear with me! I watched an online video where they used the same hinging tape to attach mat to board so I did that, problem is my prints almost touch this tape – so when I hinged them they fell off because the back of the tape is shiny and obviously designed not to get stuck to as it’s on a roll. phew, hope you understood that.

Any hints or tips?

Is it necessary to use this acid free tape for the mat?

Hi, You could hinge the mat and backing on another side or cut the mat/backing hinge down to give you enough room to attach the art, or use a larger mat. Hope this helps
