Very nicely done Doug, what an experience, to be there! I had a similar feeling in Newfoundland, at Gros Morne, and in Alaska, they seem so much taller even, going straight up from the sea like that.
Cheers, Lynn

Waterfalls pouring down the mountains everywhere, mountains appearing then disappearing into the mist. Its like another world isnt it – awesome, takes your breath away – the raw power and majesty of nature! Hard to explain to those who havent experienced it. You have to see it to realise the sheer awe of it! Im so glad you saw it at its best – unforgetable.

February 27, 2017 at 1:17 am #527862Yes Vivien, it was pouring it down when we were there, lots of waterfalls in every direction. I wanted to see how it was when sunny.

I agree! and I like the composition too, sometimes difficult to place a single object in the frame.

What I love about gouache (for anyone who hasn’t used them) is the ability to pick up my dried palette and simply wet a small portion to reactivate the paint. I sometimes work on paintings for just a few quick minutes when I can sneak them in and not having to mix up new paint is wonderful. Not only that but since the gouache is dry you can see exactly what colour it will be in your painting.

March 19, 2017 at 8:53 pm #528239Great job, Glenn! I love gouache too I’ve found it to be a very versatile medium! Have fun with it! 😊
March 19, 2017 at 9:04 pm #528240After 3-4 months of being too busy to paint, I managed a little time this week to do this small gouache and watercolor painting. I didnt know what to paint, actually (little inspiration lately ). But I think I like how the painting ended up. I titled it ” This Path we Took.”
March 20, 2017 at 2:12 am #527864You have an unusual gouache technique Michael, like wet in wet watercolour. It must be difficult in gouache which dries quickly.
How do you achieve the effect?
