Thanks very much, Donald.  I’ll be glad when this drawing has been completed.  I’ve enjoyed it, but didn’t anticipate it would take the whole summer!

    Back with an update!

Now that the forms are in place, it’s all about upping the values and contrast to lend further realism and defining depth and sharpening edges. I’ve added a Sakura Pigma Micron pen in 01 – slightly larger and inkier- to my arsenal to drive the darker areas even deeper.

The finish is in sight! The next update on this just might be the finale!  C&C welcome.  Thanks for looking.

My Piglets are finished at long last.

It took way more sittings to round out this drawing than I expected.  That foreground was tough to do.  Fun fact, I always thought about the most difficult thing I could imagine drawing would be a big bowl of spaghetti (all those crisscrossing, tangled noodles!)…turns out, four wiry piglets laying on a bed of straw is no less complex.  What a lot of work!

But all in all, I had fun with this challenging subject.  I had a white jelly-roller pen handy just in case I’d need to make corrections, but never did use it.  I wanted to keep this drawing “pure”, you could say.

Almost 4 months of work, and I’m happy it’s done!  Thanks to everyone for following along, for the comments, and for the company.  I hope you’ll join me for the next one.
