8×10 on wooden panel. Nova acrylics. My father always wanted an elephant ever since he was a small child. He loves these amazing majestic animals so I decided to paint him one. It tested my patience because it took so long working on all the wrinkles but I think it turned out quite well. It’s a first time for me working with the new acrylic brand and I love them. I also used more glazes and slow drying mediums for the first time as well. I’m happy with it and I can call it finished.

What a lovely gift for your father. I find acrylics testing and admire those who use this medium. The background is excellent, too.

There’s a lot of detail in this painting, I can tell it took a long time. Love those trunk wrinkles. Really like those background trees too.

Well done and congrats on having the patience to paint all those wrinkles and well painted they are. Great gift for your Dad. Bet he was over the moon when he received it.

Thank you all. Yes he loves the painting a lot. We are both very happy. Backgrounds are tricky for me and skies with clouds. Acrylic can be hard to get the right blends too. I work on a small scale yet this year I will try much larger painting and see what happens.
