I am working on bracelets feverishly, building up my inventory!!! Just haven’t had time to take pictures, or scan and post. I’ll try to do that this week.
Donia, We’d love to see your bracelet!!!
Some info for you all, a friend of mine used a office clip board to hold her work down. She said it worked great. She didn’t know what to use, school was out and her son brought this clip board home that he had at school, so she used it. So there is another idea.
June 20, 2007 at 3:00 pm #1084127The clip board idea sounds ideal, Gladys! That’s doable for me! I’ve got my book, but I want to finish my spiral necklace before I start this. Need to order cord, so maybe I’ll do that, now…
Woud love to see all your (un-posted as yet) work, everyone!

Life is like playing a violin in public and learning the instrument as one goes on ~Samuel ButlerJune 20, 2007 at 3:20 pm #1084148I finally bought my fray check so I can get started. Need I mention that JoAnn’s Fabric is about five blocks from my house?
June 20, 2007 at 3:27 pm #1084087Ohmygosh, Maggie! I’d be broke if JoAnn’s or Michael’s was that close
June 23, 2007 at 7:34 am #1084155Could anyone please post any photos of the weaving process?
I live in Russia and have not a single possibility to buy Robin Atkins’ book. I would definetely order it from Amazon but there’s no such a book here, and Robin does not ship internationally as far as I know.
Please help, please post any photos of the process!
Thank you very much!June 23, 2007 at 8:59 am #1084128Welcome, jinjiru! You’vve found the best, and friendliest group of jewelry artists on the net!
May I suggest that you try on eBay, that is where I got my book. There are usually a couple of them listed, new, and I believe they will ship internationally.
Hey, guys! I went hog-wild and ordered several colors of cord! Now I HAVE to make it when my cord comes!!!~Sylvia~

(though still any pics will be highly appreciated – maybe anyone takes any photos during the process?)
June 23, 2007 at 12:02 pm #1084058Welcome jinjiru! Yes, ebay is a great idea – you’ll find everything you need there.
Here is a WIP, of a necklace I’ve been making forever, though I’m not sure how much help it will be. It’s just an office cork board, my heavy plate holds it down on my lap when I’m working, instead of a weight like Robin suggests – you’ll need pins to hold it all tight on the board.

My Blog / My Etsy / My WebsiteJune 23, 2007 at 1:26 pm #1084110Welcome jinjiru, you have found a great place to hang out. Please go directly to robinatkins.com, on there she shows some steps for the weaving part. Its primarely an S weave, using one weaving cord, over, under, over, under, adding beads to the cords you are weaving over and never adding beads to the weaving cord. Hope that makes sense.
Pam, That is going to be gorgeous!!! Can’t wait until its done! Lime green and turquoise, my favorite colors!
March 1, 2008 at 6:28 pm #1084147I’m going to try to revive this thread.
You see, I have the book, limit-less supplies, cork board (two different ones to boot), and haven’t tried this yet.
I kept up with this thread and saw all the beautiful bracelets:thumbsup: and such that everyone was making. I kept looking at my stash of supplies and just never moved on it. HELP!!!
I think my problem is that I’m stuck on thinking that the basic Caterpillar or Loop De Loop type bracelet gives me the same look for so much less time. What are your opinions here?
Has anyone else made some new items to show off?
March 2, 2008 at 12:32 am #1084149doniaduck, Thanks for reviving this thread. It is totally fascinating and has lots of great info in it. Love the finger woven bracelets so much!! I want to try it sometime, and thanks to you I have a lot more information on it!!

Etsy shop My Blog Etsy Art ShopMay 6, 2008 at 11:38 pm #1084157Doniaduck, I have recently started making these. My first one is a joke, but the one I’m working on now is turning out much better. I don’t have any pics yet, though. I have to keep making more beads for it because a new idea will strike me, lol. I’ve made the caterpillar/fringe bracelets and looped bracelets, and they seemed to take forever to finish. This seems much faster to me.
Ritazart, I kept saying that I wanted to try it sometime too. Well, I finally bought the book, went crazy buying the C-lon and treasures to put on it and am happily weaving away at it. You should try it, it’s addicting!
Have fun with it!
LauraAugust 17, 2008 at 4:43 pm #1084059OK, I canned the blue and green monster (ick) and made this one instead. Not necessarily Robin Atkin’s knotting technique, but the same style anyway. I love it and it only took 4 hours (not including the time it took to make the beads themselves):

My Blog / My Etsy / My WebsiteSeptember 8, 2008 at 3:05 am #1084150Nearly done with my watermelon treasure bracelet, just trying to figure out how to end it. That part wasn’t covered in anything I have. Don’t have the Robin Atkins book yet.
