Rubenesque models are always a delight to draw, so many incredible curves to deal with. I missed out the clothed poses and went straight to the 2 minutes which I tried to keep as simple as possible, concentrating on the line.
With gesture drawings, you miss out on putting any detail into the drawing so for the 5 minute, I put it on pause and worked on the shading. I should probably have developed the face and arm more. The drawing took around 90 minutes.
I used a conte sanguine pencil for these and have now discovered they also make a sanguine medicis pencil, a browner hue similar to renaissance sanguine. They are already on order

C&C always welcome.

February 19, 2019 at 9:40 pm #784982Very nice lines David and I was drawn to this same model too! I didn’t follow Figuary until reading some of the posts here. Interesting. Did not follow the time and another pregnant model (can’t remember if the pregnant one is from Figuary).
Hope you don’t mind my posting it here as I didn’t want to create a new thread just for this that’s full of errors

February 20, 2019 at 6:25 am #784984Thank you Mac Harry and Constance
Constance youve captured her well and I like seeing the pentimento. The interesting thing about figuary is seeing how other artists handle the same subject. Its well worth going onto Instagram to see more. Many people are taking part
