That’s a very good sketch Jo, and it would be nice to see in pastel.

February 15, 2021 at 10:59 am #1384167Jo, I just love your rendition of the old truck. Great line use and sense of age. I hope you get a chance to do this in pastels – you’ll do a marvelous job with it if you do!

February 26, 2021 at 2:21 pm #1387445I sketched in the big coffee table book. I started with just ink and then added colored pencil so…. It is about 9 x 12 inches. A variety of pens with colored ink and then colored pencils.

February 27, 2021 at 10:41 pm #1387822Christel, thank you. My daughter asked it if was the lost sheep in Australia or something. She said they found a sheep that hadn’t been sheered for many years and was so woolly, so I showed her the photo.
Kay, I had trouble with the sheep. they don’t seem to have an identifiable face to me, so thanks for your comment. I’ve tried painting sheep before as well and never finished a painting to my liking. Maybe I should start with lambs as they seem so cute. Ha.

My website https://jocastilloart.comFebruary 28, 2021 at 10:30 am #1387949I really wanted to have this done by now but I’m not a portrait artist and I just cannot seem to figure out how to draw all that crazy hair! LOL Oh well, I tried.
Maybe next time I’ll stick to drawing animals or people without hair!
I hope you all are doing ok out there.
February 28, 2021 at 10:32 am #1387950My first attempt at uploading did not work…..let’s see if I can figure this out.

February 28, 2021 at 11:41 pm #1388173Jo, your sheep is absolutely adorable! I love all that thick, fuzzy wool, and especially the buttery, creamy colors you’ve used. Beautiful work!
Slyfox, what an amazing start on this portrait! Not only is the hair and skin texture so remarkable, but you’ve got a fantastic likeness! Please, please keep going and be sure to share the finish. This is going to be amazing!
Well, with all the beautiful and inspiring artwork here in this thread, I almost don’t want to say the new March Monthly Challenge is up and going. A huge thank you to Slyfox for hosting for us! See you all in the March thread.
